Materials Classification
Materials are classified based on their electrical conductivity into three main categories: metals, semiconductors, and insulators. This classification is based on their resistivity (ρ) and conductivity (σ) values, as well as their electronic band structure.
In this simulation, you can select different material types to visualize their atomic structure and electron behavior. The conductivity properties are determined by the availability of free electrons and the energy band gap.
