Hypermetropia (Farsightedness) Explanation

Hypermetropia (farsightedness) occurs when:

  • The eyeball is too short, or
  • The cornea doesn't have enough curvature, or
  • The lens isn't thick enough

This causes light rays to focus behind the retina when looking at near objects. A converging (convex) lens corrects this by bending light rays inward before they enter the eye.
