The stress in a cable under tension is calculated using the formula:
σ = F / A
Where:
- σ is the stress (N/m²)
- F is the applied force (N)
- A is the cross-sectional area (m²)
For a circular cable, the area is calculated as:
A = πr²
Where r is the radius of the cable.
